Cherry & Hazelnut Sugar Cookies
2 ½ cups flour
1 cup of Sugar
¾ cup Shortening or ½ Cup Butter
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt
½ tsp Vanilla
½ cup of reconstituted Cherry Country Dried Tart Cherries
½ cup of chopped Hazelnuts
Mix together shortening/butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, cherries and hazelnuts and set aside. In a separate bowl mix together four, baking powder and salt. Slowly mix in the flour mixture into the shortening mixture and chill at least ½ hour. Take dough and flatten it on a greased cookie sheet. Bake 350 - 375 degrees for 5-6 minutes.
1 ½ boxes of Powdered Sugar
¾ tsp Vanilla
3 Tbls Butter
Add milk for desired texture
Whisk together. Frost cooled cookies.
